I'm finally into those jeans I bought last year and never fit into before. I bought them because they didn't have my size, and planned to drop five lbs afterwards. Well, the afterwards was a year later...but that was today! I don't know why I went down so much in just two days of dieting, but maybe my body is ready to lose. I'm not as young as I used to be, but I'm encouraged. I'm a better cook than I used to be, and if I can avoid the empty calories in booze I think this will work.

ate: serving of creamy soup
salad with garlic dressing
steak with asparagus
low-carb tortilla with chicken, cheese and sour cream

in Ketosis. appitite has already dropped.

Feelin good today. Had the usual ups and downs that come with being me. talked to my grandfather, had a nightmare. Cooked alot of food for the next week.

Had: more meat than I should for breakfast. Bacon and eggs and two narrow strips of ham. I had a small hashbrown because it came with the breakfast. That was a mistake, but I'll do better next time. I've said goodbye to hashbrowns for a while.

That was late for breakfast, so I didn't eat again till around 9:00 pm. I had a soup that was full of leeks, caulflower and cream. It was very veggie and good. I tried not to put much cream, butter or salt in it. Then I had a olive, three sprigs of celery, and some chamomile tea. One splenda packet was involved, and Leeks have 11 grams of carbs. Not sure about the breakfast, though.

I have to see the doctor tomorrow and see if they'll let me work out. (Had a bit of hypertension recently)

Maybe they'll say its ok. I'd hate to do diet alone while there is such a good gym here.

So, my roommate and I are wanting to cook for thanksgiving. This makes me think that, since we are having people over I need some healthy alternatives (no stuffing). Let's see,

Brainstorming:
Definitely...

Turkey
Green olive and Jalapeno Deviled eggs
Homemade coleslaw with pulverized mustard seed and dill seed
Cucumber salad with yogurt-dill dressing
Parmesan crusted asparagus with garlic
Mashed cauliflower with butter and cream

Maybe a bit of fluffy Quinoa instead of stuffing?

Hmm. Also, gravy is a problem. Soy flour might not be a good idea as a thickener.
Maybe I'll just use chicken broth with a tiny dash of cornstarch.

This is my bright shiny new diet journal! Yay!

Groundrules: Any improvement is welcome, but my official goal weight is 140 lbs.

My current weight is 175 lbs.

I plan to use atkins and exercise, plus fiber and vitamin supplements.

Starting day is November 12, 2006 Weight 175, 29 inch waist, size 16.

First goal: Make it through 2 weeks of indiction without cheating.
Second goal: Lose 5 lbs.
3rd goal: Hover around 30-35 carbs per day in OWL.
